Medvind is here!

After an extensive development process together with Trelleborg, we are finally launching the first version of Medvind – the Swedish Cruising Association’s new navigation app, developed by boat owners for boat owners. And if you are a member with a registered boat, the app is included at no additional cost.

The app is initially available for iOS and works on both iPhone and iPad. 

Please note that this is the first version of the app, which means that not everything is perfect yet. Bugs will be fixed continuously, and new features will be added over time.

For example, some small islands within the three-metre depth contour are currently not displayed correctly. This issue will be corrected within the coming weeks.

With Medvind, you get access to:

  • Official Swedish nautical charts from the Swedish Maritime Administration
  • Hydrographica’s specialised charts (currently with some limitations north of Gävle)
  • The option to purchase Danish and Finnish charts
  • Navigation and route planning both online and offline

Getting started

  1. Search for Medvind in the App Store and install the app.
  2. Enter the email address registered with the Swedish Cruising Association.
  3. A login code will be sent to your email address.
  4. Enter the code, download the charts, and start navigating.

No password is required.

Important information

  • The app is currently available for iPhone and iPad (iOS) only.
  • If your login code does not arrive immediately, please check your spam or junk mail folder.
  • You can use the app on up to five devices.
  • Access is valid until the end of February and is renewed together with your membership.
